    Peak 8 Asset Management LLC is an asset management firm that focuses on alternative fixed income investments.

    Team

    David Moran 

     

    David Moran is Peak 8’s Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer. He has more than twenty years of investing experience in alternative credit markets. He leads the Peak 8 team of professionals responsible for analyzing the risks and returns of illiquid securities in structured finance, project finance, specialized real estate and distressed or special situation assets that are difficult to place in traditional markets. Before starting Peak 8, David spent fifteen years running an alternative credit business as President of PartnerRe Principal Finance. At PartnerRe, he was responsible for a team of ten professionals, investing over $4 billion in high yield illiquid assets. Prior to PartnerRe, David was a Director with Swiss Re New Markets where he was responsible for starting and leading an effort to finance non-standard asset-backed risks. David holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from New York University. 

     

     

    Neil Glosman

     

    Neil Glosman is a Managing Director with Peak 8, focusing on the asset management of the client portfolios as well as the sourcing and risk underwriting for the Structured Finance and Affordable Housing mandates. He was previously at PartnerRe Principal Finance for more than ten years, originating and underwriting alternative fixed income transactions in many asset classes including tax liens, whole business, PACE, entertainment, among others. Prior to PartnerRe, Neil worked at Quanta Holdings in the reinsurance casualty group. Neil has a Bachelor of Science from Lehigh University and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Fordham University. 

     

     

    Michael Halford

     

    Michael Halford is a Managing Director responsible for sourcing, risk underwriting and asset management for alternative fixed income transactions. He has more than twenty years of experience in finance and investing. Prior to joining Peak 8, he was part of PartnerRe's investment management group. He has also worked in alternative insurance and reinsurance at CentreRe, a subsidiary of Zurich Financial Services Group. Michael is a CPA, CA (Canada) and started his career in public accounting working for PwC and EY in Canada and Bermuda, respectively. Michael graduated with a BCom from the University of Alberta and holds a Master of Business Administration, with distinction, from New York University.

     

     

    James Hupprich 

     

    James Hupprich is a Managing Director responsible for sourcing, risk underwriting and asset management. Prior to joining Peak 8, James was a Managing Director in PartnerRe’s alternative fixed income group and was the lead underwriter for real estate and tax advantaged investments. He has more than twenty years of experience underwriting and asset managing debt and equity transactions with a specialization in tax advantaged public-private investments. Prior to joining PartnerRe, he was a Vice President at Zurich Structured Finance and CentreRe, subsidiaries of Zurich Financial Services Group, focusing on asset based alternative risk financing. Earlier in his career he worked for Reznick, Fedder & Silverman, a public accounting firm. James holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics and a Bachelor of Science in Business and Management from the University of Maryland. He is also a CPA (inactive). 

     

     

    David Molyneux 

     

    David Molyneux is a Managing Director overseeing all aspects of risk analytics and quantitative modelling for Peak 8. David has more than twenty years of experience in asset management and reinsurance. Prior to joining Peak 8, David spent fifteen years at PartnerRe Principal Finance focused on alternative fixed income assets. Prior to PartnerRe, David was a Vice President with Zurich Re/Converium, where he focused on specialty reinsurance and alternative risk transfer products. David has a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Rochester. He is a Fellow of Casualty Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. 

     

     

    Stefan Schmitz 

     

    Stefan Schmitz is a Managing Director responsible for sourcing, risk underwriting and asset management of alternative fixed income transactions. In addition, Stefan manages Peak 8’s human resources and operations activities. Most recently, Stefan was the Chief Administrative Officer at Entitle Direct Group, Inc. (a national title insurance company). Prior to Entitle Direct, Stefan was a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager in PartnerRe’s alternative investments group. Stefan also worked for more than ten years as a sell-side investment banker at Lehman Brothers, JPMorgan, and UBS AG, where he focused on non-traditional securitizations and other capital market transactions. Stefan holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Central Florida and earned a joint Juris Doctor & Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University. 

     

    Kathleen Servidea

    Kathleen Servidea is Peak 8's General Counsel. Most recently, Kathleen served as Deputy General Counsel of TP ICAP, where she managed the corporate legal function for the Americas. Prior to that, Kathleen spent thirteen years as Associate General Counsel of PartnerRe's investment management group. At PartnerRe, Kathleen acted as primary legal counsel to the Principal Finance and Strategic Investment groups, overseeing alternative fixed income, private equity and private fund transactions along with related tax and regulatory matters. Kathleen began her career as an associate at Dechert LLP, where she focused on a wide variety of ABS and CMBS securitizations. Kathleen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University and a Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law.
